This stunning one-of-a-kind gold pendant features a responsibly sourced, octagon precision-cut lilac Madagscan sapphire that has been cast directly into the gold using the ancient technique of cuttlefish casting. The sapphire was cut by the very talented Michelle Mai (her body of work can be found on her Instagram account: mvmgems). The textures of the cuttlefish bone are what give the pendant its distinctive patterning, which was carefully selected through the carving process and fashioned after a helicopter seeds. The casting method imparts a captivating luster to the gold that is exclusive to the process.

·      Hand woven Japanese silk cord (8 by 6 thread count)

A customized version of this pendant can be made. The price will vary according to the size/color of the stone and karat of gold chosen. Due to the uniqueness of the casting process, no two pendants are the same. There is always a little movement of the stones when the molten gold hits them and the amount of gold that covers the stones can vary. This is what makes the process so exciting! I will work with the customer throughout the creative process to ensure that expectations are being met. Custom made work is non-returnable.
